Job Vacancy – Assistant Trainer and Barn Hand
White Rose Equestrian is a small, family-owned lesson barn in Iron Station, NC. We teach children and adults an independent, balanced seat.
Our emphasis is on learning safely and correctly while having fun. We are a family-oriented barn with dedicated young riders and very supportive parents. While showing isn’t compulsory, most of our advanced riders compete in either dressage or eventing.
White Rose Equestrian is growing and looking to fill the following position.
Assistant Trainer
Our lesson program is well-known and has a waiting list. The ideal candidate will have a background in dressage/centered riding and experience in eventing or jumpers, and must have experience teaching horseback riding. We are a very family-oriented barn, so you must like kids. This is a part-time, paid position with the potential to grow.
You must have:
- A clean driving record and reliable transportation
- A track record of teaching beginner and intermediate riders
- Experience with basic horse care, including recognizing problems, potential injuries, and how to treat them
- A knowledge of horse nutrition and individual requirements for horses in various stages of life and fitness
- A sense of humor and a zest for life
- Ability to work in all weather conditions without melting or freezing
- Willingness to pick up a broom and a shavings fork if necessary
- References from previous employers
There is potential to reduce the board for one horse in return for work.
